My quad core CPU is rated at 2.9 GHz but runs DAZ rendering at 3.89 GHz. Go into BIOS CPU options and make sure "speed step" feature, or whatever they call it, is enabled (also sometimes called turbo something) - it allows your CPU clock speed to respond to demand and usually gets you the best part of an extra 1GHz CPU speed. In the same control area, check the box for "thread affinity" and set the thread count to seven (leaves one CPU thread available for anything else that's going on). Set it to use the CPU in the DAZ rendering control panel. I use CPU rendering on my laptop with an i7 quad CPU but the basis for a PC is pretty much the same.ĭon't even try to render with the GPU (if you even have one). I think DAZ would run acceptably on your PC if you make best use of the quad core processor you've apparently got in there (which will be four cores and eight threads). I'd prefer to use the desktop due to my laptop already sounds like idling truck because of the fan and I can't find a replacement. Win 7, Intel core 2 quad processor CPU Q8300 2.50GHz, 4 gb ram, 64 bit. If there is a less taxing alternative to rendering that I'm over looking in my inexperience I'd love to hear more about it. Ideally I'd like to be able create my own characters, or more ideally morph existing models into original designs if needed.
What rendering software would be the best suited to my older machine, specifically looking to make sex games, so I'd be rendering environments like rooms and decorations, character models plus their assets like clothing, I think I'd leave animation off the table for now as it's probably too much. It doesn't look like I'm going to have money magically appear for me to buy anything new so I'm now looking at alternatives to DAZ. I've been wanting to make my own VN games with Renpy and Daz3d for a very long time, but I've been putting it off simply because my computer simply can't handle that sort of thing. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this,so I'm sorry if it's not.
